About Me!
Hi, I’m Ariel, the heart behind Lavender Light Doula, and I’m honored to support families during one of life’s most beautiful and transformative journeys—the postpartum period. As a Certified Postpartum Doula, trained through Cornerstone Birthworker, my mission is to provide compassionate, knowledgeable, and personalized care to help new parents feel confident, supported, and truly cared for in those critical early weeks and months.
My Background in Caregiving & Education
My passion for caregiving started long before I became a doula. I have extensive experience working as both a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a professional nanny, giving me hands-on experience in infant care, postpartum wellness, and family support.
I earned my CNA certification at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in Boone, NC, where I trained in hands-on patient care, health monitoring, and critical caregiving skills—many of which I now apply in my work supporting newborns and postpartum parents. As a nanny, I worked closely with families, providing day-to-day infant care, emotional support for parents, and assistance in creating smooth household transitions after the arrival of a new baby.
In addition to my doula and CNA training, I am currently earning my Associate in Arts degree from Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) in Sanford, NC, with an expected graduation in Summer 2025. Following this, I will be transferring back to Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, in Fall 2025 to pursue a Bachelor's in Social Work with a minor in Psychology. My educational background gives me a strong foundation in family dynamics, mental health awareness, and trauma-informed care, all of which enhance my ability to support new parents holistically.
Postpartum Doula Training & Approach
I trained as a Postpartum Doula through Cornerstone Birthworker, a highly respected and inclusive doula certification program that emphasizes holistic, evidence-based, and culturally competent care. This training provided me with the skills to support all families—regardless of background, birth experience, or parenting style—and to approach postpartum care with empathy, flexibility, and knowledge.
At Lavender Light Doula, I offer:
✔ Newborn Care – Helping with feeding, soothing, sleep support, and general infant care
✔ Parental Support – Encouraging confidence, emotional well-being, and hands-on assistance
✔ Household Help – Light meal prep, tidying up, and making the transition smoother for families
✔ Education & Empowerment – Sharing evidence-based information on postpartum recovery, newborn needs, and self-care for parents
I firmly believe that every parent deserves personalized, nonjudgmental support as they navigate the postpartum period. Whether you need an extra set of hands, emotional encouragement, or guidance in adjusting to life with a newborn, I’m here to help make your transition smoother, your home more peaceful, and your confidence as a parent stronger.
A Little More About Me
Outside of my work, I love exploring the outdoors, spending time with my animals, and constantly learning new things. I bring that same curiosity, warmth, and enthusiasm into my work with families, always looking for ways to better support and uplift the people I serve.
At Lavender Light Doula, my mission is simple: to help you feel empowered, prepared, and truly supported as you embark on this new chapter. Parenthood is a journey filled with love, growth, and learning—and you don’t have to do it alone.
